However, from what I understand, nothing can touch that stuff.
I’m thrilled to get the chlorine, pathogens (together with viruses,
wow!), heavy metals, and other toxins out of my water.
Nice news! As of 2019, many filters, including
the Berkey, now ARE rated for removal of pharmaceuticals, referred to
as "emerging contaminants" principally because there
wasn’t a standardized check for them beforehand so nobody
may really claim their filters removed them. You definitely need a dedicated
place for it that won’t be below a cupboard, as
a result of it’s tall, perhaps two-and-a-half ft, but it’s not fairly as extensive as I was anticipating, only a couple of foot diameter.
Our Berkey holds 3 gallons at a time, which has been sufficient with out downside, even with making
rooster inventory, oatmeal, and company over (so long as we remember to fill it).
Thus far, I really like the Berkey Filter. The only contaminant I know
of that it cannot touch is hormones, that are sadly rampant in our water provide because of artificial birth control and
hormone alternative.
